How many of you are overwhelmed with the management of your fibroids? To the point that you think to yourself “well God doesn’t give you more than you can bear.” But I read a message today that brought a new perspective on the whole concept of being over your head in whatever it is that you are going through.
In 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 Paul wrote:
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life;
9 indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves in order that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
10 who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,
You see that God will put those that he loves in situations that require them to rely on Him. He won’t let you be over taken, but for sure you will be in situations that require faith and His ability. Think of Daniel.
I read a study that studied the knowledge and understanding of fibroids in Lagos Nigeria. What they found was that 98% of the women in the study knew what fibroids were. What was interesting was that
Most of the women (67.0%) perceived fibroid as a spiritual problem and hence sought treatment from the spiritual homes and invariably presented late to the hospital.
That was the part that was a little sad. That people would think that they’ve been bestowed a spirit that would threaten their fertility. A spirit that would cause growths in their uterus. But I guess, it’s no different than the spirit of leprosy that the bible talks about.
Nevertheless, it is a slippery slope because by placing the blame on a spirit, it takes away the personal responsibility thats an essential part of taking care of your fibroids. Whether that means going to the doctor to get things checked out. Going in for surgery or finding alternative methods.
The spiritual component to living with fibroids, or trying to cure yourself of fibroids isn’t often explored. But they are linked. Again in the study, it cited that this belief in there being a spirit prevented people from seeking help and going to see other types of healers and taking all sorts of herbs that they thought were going to help them get rid of the fibroids. However often times people ended up taking herbs that were phytoestrogens like ashwagandha or oestrogenic like Clomiphene which only make the fibroids grow larger.
Thats why its essential to research whatever you decide to do and ingest. Wether that is from a western doctor or an acupuncturist or a naturopath.
Researching what the options are is on you. God will see you through for sure. But you gotta do your part.
Keep the faith and get to work.
